ONGOING:
First Saturdays
features different musical and visual artists from our area. While walking around and enjoying these events, please feel free to stop in and shop at the many great local businesses that make downtown so unique. Be sure to participate in the Annual Wine Walk every November, craft beer walk every April, and Booze Cruise in August.

At Sounds of Summer, enjoy a variety of local and regional live music bands, Fridays evening in June and July from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.

More music continues on Sunday’s during Imagine Eleven. The eleven weeks of live, free music also includes local food vendors, and proceeds benefit a local out-patient counseling center, The Center.

Several pieces of amazing outdoor art is showcased in Coleman Hawkins Park on Felix Street Square.  Enjoy the Sculpture Walk, displayed year round in downtown St. Joseph.

MAY: 

A St. Joseph tradition for Apple Blossom Festival. Share the spirit of St. Joseph’s annual rite of spring. City-wide festival includes queen contests and the ever-popular Apple Blossom Parade and Apple Blossom BBQ Contest at Civic Center Park. Also, this weekend is “Discover Downtown,” an enhanced version of First Saturdays. May 5-6, 2018

JUNE:

Enjoy the Northend Family Festival with live music, food vendors, crafts, fireworks, children’s activities, dance performances, and a parade all centered around St. Joseph largest park, Krug Park. June 1-3, 2018

At the Coleman Hawkins Jazz Festival various talented musicians from the region come together to perform day and night at Coleman Hawkins Park in downtown St. Joseph in celebration of St. Joseph’s native son, Coleman Hawkins.  Includes art vendors and concessions. Admission is free. June 8-11, 2018

Juneteenth Festival commemorates the oldest celebration of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 with a parade, African art, historical reenactments, music, food, health fair, car show & picnic. June 15-17, 2018

AUGUST: 

Shake those maracas at the St. Patrick’s Fiesta, which begins with a queen coronation and variety show and includes lots of authentic Mexican food, Cascarones, carnival rides, and live music. August 10-12, 2018

The largest festival in northwest Missouri is Trails West! Enjoy music, dance, fine arts, crafts and interactive experiences for the whole family. As the sun goes down the main stage comes alive to bring the talents of national recording artists from Country, Rock, and Blues to town.

SEPTEMBER: 

Joestock Music Festival  is a three-day free event over Labor Day weekend includes dozens of international, national, regional and local musical acts on the grounds Felix Street Square in Downtown St. Joseph. Free admission for all ages, and is produced in conjunction with the Missouri Music Hall of Fame inductions.  August 31-September 2

The 2nd weekend in September Coleman Hawkins returns with the Coleman Hawkins Blues Festival.  Celebrate smooth jazz in Coleman Hawkins Park, downtown St. Joseph.  September 7-9

St. Joe Pride includes parades, drag shows, concerts, food and merchandise vendors, community resource booths, panel discussions, activities for kids, and much more which celebrates the contributions of the LGBT community in St. Joseph. September 14-16, 2018

The Southside Fall Festival is dedicated to family entertainment with craft and food booths, kids’ rides and activities, on-going entertainment, fireworks and a parade in an alcohol-free environment. September 14-16, 2018

Another free concert benefiting Second Harvest Community Food Bank, Bluegrass Battles Hunger, showcases an incredible line up of regional bluegrass musicians. September 21-22

OCTOBER

PumpkinFest helps to usher in the fall season with a 3-day, free family festival that features entertainment, children’s costume parade, festival rides, games, crafters and food. See the lighting of “Great Pumpkin Mountain:” hundreds of carved, electrically lit pumpkins magically come to life. October 12-14, 2018

NOVEMBER

It’s a gift-giver or super-shopaholic’s seasonal dream at the Sugarplum Festival. Inside the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art, over 40 artisans offer beautiful holiday gifts and specialty treasures to help get you into the mood for Christmas and shop for those you love. November 9-11, 2018
