302 S 8th Street St. Joseph, MO 64506

Tobiason Studio, located in historic downtown St. Joseph, Missouri, is owned and operated by Rick & Terri Rader. Employees Shelley Grier (resident artist & Rick’s sister) and Terry Camacho are experienced glass artists who are ready to answer your questions and provide recommendations. There are also many “volunteer” employees, which include parents, friends, and other glass enthusiasts.

Opening their first studio (Wood ‘n’ Glass) in 1990, Rick & Terri acquired Tobiason Studio in 1998 when owner Carl Tobiason retired. In 1999, the Rader’s sold the retail portion of the business (Wood ‘n’ Glass) to allow more focus on the studio side. In 2002 they had the opportunity to purchase Hopcroft Stained Glass Studio in Kansas City, MO, founded in 1914. Today, Tobiason Studio specializes in commissioned art glass and restoration, but also offers a wide range of classes and supplies in flat glass, warm glass, lampworking, and sandblasting, just to name a few.
