These mystical states of consciousness accessed through meditation\, breathwork\, yoga\, psychedelics\, lucid dreaming\, ecstatic dance\, sex\, fasting\, birth/death\, etc have unique potential to help us feel connected to our bodies\, the planet and each other. Through these connections we can sometimes heal traumas at the root of many mental health problems such as addiction\, depression\, and anxiety. Transpersonal psychology is a holistic approach to mental health that includes the *spiritual* needs of humans as well as biological\, psychological\, and social needs.
