SUMMARY:How Are Bikes Made?
DESCRIPTION:An Evening With A Local Cycling Industry Expert \nWe’re very excited to welcome a local legend\, Jonathan Schottler\, to Tubes for a fun evening on August 28th! Jonathan is a KC native but has been living in Germany since 2013. He was a Design Engineer for Cannondale’s carbon racing bikes beginning in 2012 and is currently a Design Engineer for Specialized’s carbon racing bikes since 2022. Jonathan was also a 3rd place Unbound Gravel overall finisher (when it was still Dirty Kanza).\nIn addition to giving us a little bit of info on his background\, including his racing and career history and how he ended up in Germany\, Jonathan’s also going to teach us how bikes are made: concept – design – optimization – manufacturing.\nJonathan will be at the shop that evening from 5-8pm\, with his 45-minute presentation beginning at 6pm\, followed by a Q&A session for anyone who’s interested.\nWe’ll also be ordering in some Pizza Tascio! If you’d like a slice of pizza and a drink token good for one beverage of your choice\, the cost will be $10. If you don’t want pizza\, the bar will be open with all usual drinks available for purchase.\nIf you’re interested in learning more about the cycling industry\, racing\, or the bicycle design and manufacturing process\, you don’t want to miss this event!
