DESCRIPTION:ST. JOSEPH SPRING SIZZLE YOUTH SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT \nBILL MCKINNEY SOFTBALL COMPLEX AT HERITAGE PARK \nST.JOSEPH\, MISSOURI \nMAY 3-4\, 2025 \nHOSTED BY THE ST. JOSEPH SPORTS COMMISSION \n  \nFormat: \nPut some sizzle into your spring and head to St. Joseph May 3-4 for our 2nd Annual event!  This event is open to the following divisions: \n10U B \n10U C \n12U B \n12U C \n14U B \n14U C \nPool play begins on Saturday\, May 3 with a three-game guarantee moving on to single elimination bracket play on Sunday.  Be prepared to play on Friday evening should the schedule warrant.  We must have four teams to make a bracket and we will combine B & C teams to make an eight team bracket in an age division. \nEntry Fee: $375 per team (Payment is accepted by either cash\, check or credit card).  If paid by credit card\, please use the link on this page as we do not have PayPal.  If by check\, please mail to the below address: \nSt. Joseph Sports Commission \nAttn: Brett Esely \n911 Frederick Ave. \nSt. Joseph\, MO 64501 \nPlease make check out to: St. Joseph Sports Commission \nGate Fee: $5 per person\, per day\, children 6 & under will be admitted free \nRules of Play: \n“C” State rules are used for play with modification.  Teams will bat line up.  Age eligibility will be determined in accordance with current USA Softball regulations.  All teams will receive one new ball for tournament play. \nDugout Contest: \nA “sizzle themed” dugout/uniform contest will be held for teams wishing to participate.  The contest will be held on Saturday of the event. \nAbout Heritage Park: \nHeritage Park is a five-field softball complex located adjacent to the Missouri River in St. Joseph and was named the 2009 National Amateur Softball Association Complex of the Year.  It has hosted ten national tournaments\, several regional and state tournaments along with the NCAA Softball National Championship in 2011. \nAwards: \nAwards in all division are based solely off bracket play results\, not pool play. \nRainout Policy: \nIf 75% of games are played\, there will be no refunds.  Any refunds will be issued based on the number of games a team played.  If no games are played\, a $50 administration fee will be withheld from the refund. \nNo refunds will be allowed for teams who forfeit games or drop out once a division is full and schedule has been made. \nHotels & Other Accommodations: \nVisit stjomo.com for a complete listing of hotel properties and other amenities in the area. \nTournament Director: \nBrett Esely – besely@stjomo.com – 816-233-6688

DESCRIPTION:Join the newly renovated RUBY THEATRE\, St. Joe’s Premier Dinner Theatre\, for the hit show\, STEEL MAGNOLIAS! Hilarious and touching\, this comedy-drama discovers the bond among a group of gossipy Southern ladies in a small town beauty parlor where they share their lives and loves. At Truvy’s beauty salon\, all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant\, Annelle\, the outspoken\, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon\, Ouiser; an eccentric millionaire\, Miss Clairee; and the local social leader\, M’Lynn\, whose daughter\, Shelby\, is about to marry a “good ole boy.”  Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions\, the play moves toward tragedy when\, in the second act\, the spunky Shelby (who is a diabetic) risks pregnancy and forfeits her life.
