DESCRIPTION:Explore new exhibit displays at the Pony Express Stables on April 24 and 25 from 9 AM to 5 PM. Join Huston and Megan Wyeth as they share a rare 1915 Wyeth Annual Catalog\, Saddle Edition No. 112\, from the Wyeth Hardware and Manufacturing Company of St. Joseph\, Missouri. The catalog will be displayed near the horses in the stalls following the Moment in Time. Guests can also experience an expanded Stormy Dodger wooden horse exhibit featuring Louis Killackey’s story about his wooden horse. Admission is free both days. Sponsored as part of the United States 250th anniversary celebration\, this special event invites visitors to revisit key Pony Express moments\, including the record setting delivery of Abraham Lincoln’s inaugural address and a historic letter urging California not to secede from the Union.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for Circle the Wagon\, a celebration of the 1960 Pony Express Re-Ride\, on Sunday\, April 26\, 2026\, at 1:30 PM. The Lee Shifflett Family will share artifacts from the 1960 re-ride\, which began at the Pony Express Stables on April 3\, 1960\, just as the original Pony Express ride once did. \nGuests will enjoy historic films documenting the rider’s departure from St. Joseph on the journey to Salt Lake City\, along with additional footage from 1967. The program will also recognize Raymond Shifflett\, who took part in the re-ride\, and honor those who participated by reading their names aloud. \nThe celebration will include a toast\, cake\, newspaper coverage from the day\, and other memorable items that help bring this important piece of Pony Express history back to life. Admission is free\, and all are welcome.
