Bach was a big deal – but only to the few who knew of him. It wasn’t until a young composer, Felix Mendelssohn, elevated the works of Johann Sebastian Bach that he attained prominence. Our season finale, Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins, features our own concertmaster, Chun-Chien Chaung and first violinist, Andrew Holmes. It will dazzle your ears with myriad musical textures and memorable melodies. The concert concludes with an ode to Mendelssohn’s inspirational travel to Scotland. The SJS will perform his third symphony – dubbed “The Scottish” – to close another wonder full season of live classical music in St. Joseph.
