Beginner’s Knitting with Marylin Huskamp is a hands on class designed for new knitters. Learn casting on, knit and purl stitches, measuring gauge for proper fit, and casting off. Start with a small sampler, then begin a simple scarf once you are comfortable with the basics. As skills progress, you will be introduced to additional stitch patterns and techniques such as cables, yarn overs, and popcorn stitches. Classes meet Wednesdays, February 11 through March 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art. Supplies are provided through Class 2. Starting in Class 3, students will purchase their own yarn and circular needles to complete the scarf.
