
Colored Pencil Happy Hour with Wanda Taylor is a relaxed, hands on session at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art for anyone who wants to learn or improve colored pencil skills. With more than 20 years of experience, Wanda will guide you step by step, layer by layer, covering composition, complementary color, blending, texture, and developing your personal style. Choose a guided lesson or bring your own reference image. All skill levels are welcome.
Supplies to bring: heavy drawing paper such as Strathmore 400 or smooth watercolor or mixed media paper; artist grade colored pencils (Lyra Rembrandt, Faber-Castell, or Prismacolor Premier); a white plastic or kneaded eraser; and a pencil sharpener. Optional items include Pastelmat paper, a drafting or clean makeup brush, carbon transfer paper, scissors, tape, a drawing board, watercolor pencils, and odorless oil solvent with a brush for blending.
