
Unwind with a creative evening of colored pencil at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art. Colored Pencil Happy Hour with Wanda Taylor is a welcoming, hands on session for beginners through experienced artists. Wanda brings more than 20 years of colored pencil experience and will guide you through her process step by step, layer by layer.
You will learn techniques that can include composition, using complementary color, building texture, blending, and developing personal style. Follow a guided lesson or bring your own reference image and work at your own pace with Wanda’s support.
What to bring
Required supplies
• Heavy drawing paper or a sketchbook (Strathmore 400 recommended)
• Artist grade colored pencils (Lyra Rembrandt, Faber-Castell, or Prismacolor Premier)
• Eraser (white plastic or kneaded)
• Pencil sharpener

• Reference photo printed to the size you will work
• Carbon transfer paper
• Odorless oil painting solvent and brush for blending
