An Evening With A Local Cycling Industry Expert
We’re very excited to welcome a local legend, Jonathan Schottler, to Tubes for a fun evening on August 28th! Jonathan is a KC native but has been living in Germany since 2013. He was a Design Engineer for Cannondale’s carbon racing bikes beginning in 2012 and is currently a Design Engineer for Specialized’s carbon racing bikes since 2022. Jonathan was also a 3rd place Unbound Gravel overall finisher (when it was still Dirty Kanza).
In addition to giving us a little bit of info on his background, including his racing and career history and how he ended up in Germany, Jonathan’s also going to teach us how bikes are made: concept – design – optimization – manufacturing.
Jonathan will be at the shop that evening from 5-8pm, with his 45-minute presentation beginning at 6pm, followed by a Q&A session for anyone who’s interested.
We’ll also be ordering in some Pizza Tascio! If you’d like a slice of pizza and a drink token good for one beverage of your choice, the cost will be $10. If you don’t want pizza, the bar will be open with all usual drinks available for purchase.
