Cathy Kline has dedicated 43 years to teaching and spent a decade running her art gallery in Parkville, MO—a creative space where artists could gather and grow. Though she retired from the gallery to spend more time with her granddaughters, she continues to teach and accept commissions. Cathy also founded ‘Paint PARKVILLE Plein Air,’ an event that thrived for eleven years.
Beyond her own work, Cathy has played a key role in Kansas City’s art community, serving as President of the historic, 103-year-old Art Study Club. This club, which predates the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, once served tea during presidential talks at the Kansas City Art Institute.
In her upcoming class, she will guide students through painting portraits from a reference image, focusing on proportion and color mixing using the Zorn Palette.
