Join us for Psychology Social Hour featuring Chad Scott, PhD, therapist, educator, and author of Beyond the Darkness: Transformative Journeys Through Dark Tourism. In this talk, Chad explores why people visit sites tied to tragedy and what those places can teach us about suffering, resilience, and the human capacity for meaning.

Drawing on 25 years in mental health, 18 years teaching psychology, and his own life experiences, Chad shares stories and insights from destinations such as Auschwitz, the Paris Catacombs, and Ground Zero. Together we will consider what it means to bear witness to history and how “walking through darkness” can help us reflect on our own challenges.
