Step inside one of St. Joseph’s most treasured landmarks for a special sketching experience inside the historic Missouri Theater. As the theater approaches its 100-year anniversary in 2027, this unique field trip offers artists of all levels the chance to explore and sketch its stunning interior up close.

The day begins with a brief presentation from Lori McAlister, who will share the history of the theater, the sculptural work of Waylande Gregory, and key architectural features throughout the building. Participants will then enjoy a relaxed, self-guided sketch session inside this iconic downtown space, with time to break for lunch before returning for an afternoon of continued sketching.

Clean, dry media suitable for use over carpet is required, including pencils, pens, or watercolor. Pre-registration is required. Admission is $20, and proceeds benefit the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art and the Missouri Theater.
