Join award-winning watercolorist Lana Cease for a two-day workshop that explores the glow of neon at night. Using the historic Katz Drug Store sign from Kansas City, now at the Lumi Museum, as inspiration, you will learn how to capture vivid light against a rich night sky and build realistic compositions. This class welcomes beginners and experienced painters.
Lana will demonstrate masking to preserve crisp edges, layering darks without losing vibrancy, and mixing luminous blacks. You will practice balancing soft washes with precise line work so that neon lettering appears to shine on paper. The workshop is part of Lana’s national tour that celebrates and preserves classic American neon through art.
