About Us – The St. Joseph, MO Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is an organization that develops and implements marketing programs designed to maximize the economic impact of visitors dollars to Buchanan County.

Position Overview – Assist our team in promoting the destination through content creation and storytelling. This internship is designed for upper-level college students interested in communications, journalism, marketing, non-profits, or other related fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with drafting social posts, website articles, press releases, and newsletters.
  • Help monitor social media channels and track engagement.
  • Support the development of marketing campaigns and promotional materials.
  • Track tourism trends, media opportunities, and community events.
  • Assist with photography or video projects that showcase the destination.

Qualifications

  • Junior or senior level students pursuing a degree in Communications or Marketing related fields (journalism, PR, hospitality, graphic design, etc.)
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Able to self-organize, allowing the management of multiple projects at a time.
  • Interested in cultural experiences such as history, art, sports, etc. is a plus, but you must be willing to learn to love St. Joseph!

Internship Details

  • Location: St. Joseph CVB (911 Frederick Ave), but open to some hybrid work.
  • Compensation: Academic credit + minimum wage.
  • Hours: Flexible to fit student’s schedule.
  • Duration: Semester-based. A minimum of 45 total hours over the course of the semester for each credit hour enrolled.
