Celebrate the holidays with the Saint Joseph Symphony – where music brings the season to life!

The Saint Joseph Symphony invites area residents and holiday visitors to celebrate the magic of the season at its annual Holiday Cheer concert on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the historic Missouri Theater. This joyful evening of music is sure to warm hearts and lift spirits as the Symphony performs beloved holiday favorites, timeless classics, and sparkling new arrangements.

Under the direction of Music Director Christopher Kelts, the Symphony will bring the sounds of the season to life with a mix of traditional carols, symphonic holiday pieces, and fun surprises for the whole family. Audience members can expect an enchanting blend of music that celebrates community, joy, and togetherness during this most festive time of year as well as the traditional carol sing-a-long with the orchestra. This year’s concert will feature Kansas City-based soprano Anna Mandina. Mandina will perform classical pieces associated with the holiday as well as more contemporary selections.

“Holiday Cheer is one of our favorite concerts of the season because it brings the entire community together to celebrate through music,” says Executive Director, Nancy Schmidt-Brunson. “This year we are excited to be visited by one of Santa’s favorite elves, who will be joining us for our pre-concert party and also guest conducting the SJS during the concert.”

The Holiday Cheer concert is made possible by support from the Allied Arts Council, the Missouri Arts Council, the St. Joseph Convention and Visitors Bureau and private donations from area residents.
