Fused Glass Workshop with Alex Asher

August 26 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
$100

Discover the art of glass fusing during this hands-on two-class workshop with Alex Asher at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art.

Designed for beginners and creatives of all experience levels, the workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of working with fused glass. During the first class, students will learn safe material handling, glass-cutting techniques, design assembly, and the basics of the kiln-firing process.

Participants will create fused glass jewelry pieces using molds to shape their designs, along with a glass mosaic artwork. Those creating a mosaic are encouraged to bring a colorful reference image to help inspire and guide their design.

After the first session, completed pieces will be fired in the kiln. Participants will return for the second class to assemble and finish their jewelry, add final details, and refine their glass mosaic projects. The second session will be shorter and primarily focused on finishing work and collecting completed pieces.

All materials for both classes are included in the registration fee.

The museum’s glass kiln was generously donated by Eileen Dyer, whose support helps make this creative workshop possible.
