Today/Tomorrow/Yesterday: Michael McCaffrey Exhibition Opening

Join the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art for the opening reception of Today/Tomorrow/Yesterday, a new exhibition by artist Michael McCaffrey.
Since 2014, McCaffrey has created paintings, drawings, and collages centered on his 87-year-old father, who serves as both muse and collaborator. The deeply personal body of work examines the changing relationship between father and son through stories, memories, and shared experiences gathered across a lifetime.
Blending observation with imagination, McCaffrey explores the way memories change over time. Real events become intertwined with embellishments, distortions, and unexpected connections, resulting in dreamlike compositions where past and present can exist together.
Through Today/Tomorrow/Yesterday, viewers are invited to consider how memories are preserved, changed, and reimagined, and how the act of painting can itself become a form of remembering.
Guests can celebrate the opening, explore the exhibition, and meet Michael McCaffrey during the reception. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
The exhibition will remain on view from August 22 through November 8, 2026.
