From the 1860s through the 1920s, St. Joseph’s bawdy houses, madams, red light districts, and underground economy existed just beyond the boundaries of polite society. This historic tour explores the women who worked there, the laws created to regulate them, and the social forces that shaped this side of the city’s frontier identity.

Guests will hear real stories that are gritty, human, and often surprising while learning more about a part of St. Joseph history that rarely makes the standard history books.
