Fused Glass Workshop with Alex Asher

November 4 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
$100
Fused Glass Workshop

Discover the art of glass fusing during this hands-on, two-class workshop with Alex Asher at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art.

During the first class, participants will learn the fundamentals of working with fused glass, including safe material handling, glass cutting techniques, design assembly, and an introduction to the kiln-firing process.

Students will create fused glass jewelry pieces using molds to shape their designs, along with a glass mosaic artwork. Participants are encouraged to bring a colorful reference image to inspire and guide their mosaic design.

After the first session, the assembled pieces will be fired in the museum’s kiln. Students will return for the second class to assemble and finish their jewelry pieces, add final details, and complete their glass mosaic artwork. The second session is shorter and focuses primarily on finishing projects and picking up completed pieces.

This workshop is designed for beginners and creatives of all experience levels. All materials for both classes are included.

The museum’s glass kiln was generously donated by Eileen Dyer.
