National Forgiveness Day: An Evening with Darryl Burton

Hear the powerful story of Darryl Burton and his journey from wrongful imprisonment to forgiveness, faith, and freedom.

Burton spent more than 24 years in prison after being wrongfully convicted of murder. His conviction was overturned in 2008, and he was exonerated after decades of maintaining his innocence.

During his years in prison, Burton has said that anger and hatred became a different kind of imprisonment. Through his Christian faith and the decision to forgive, he found a sense of spiritual freedom before his physical release.

Today, Burton shares his story of injustice, forgiveness, redemption, and hope with audiences around the country. He is also a co-founder of Miracle of Innocence, a nonprofit organization that assists wrongfully convicted individuals and helps exonerees rebuild their lives after release.

This special National Forgiveness Day program invites guests to hear Burton’s story and consider the transformative role forgiveness can play in overcoming anger, adversity, and injustice.
