Remi’s Riverbank Readers: Grandma Gatewood’s Walk

September 11 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join Remi’s Riverbank Readers at the Remington Nature Center for the September meeting of this nature-themed book club.

This month’s selection is Grandma Gatewood’s Walk by Ben Montgomery. The book tells the story of Emma Gatewood and her remarkable journey along the Appalachian Trail.

Participants will gather to discuss the book and its connections to nature, outdoor adventure, perseverance, and exploration. After the discussion, the group plans to take a short walk, so participants are encouraged to wear comfortable, weather-appropriate footwear.

Copies of the book are available for purchase at The Story Collective. A version of the book will also be available to borrow through the St. Joseph Public Library with a valid library card.

Remi’s Riverbank Readers is a free nature-based book club for ages 16 and older. Space is limited, and reservations are preferred.
