Fused Glass Workshop with Alex Asher

Discover the art of glass fusing during this hands-on, two-class workshop with Alex Asher at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art.
Designed for beginners and creatives of all skill levels, the first class introduces participants to the fundamentals of fused glass, including safe material handling, glass cutting techniques, design assembly, and the kiln-firing process. Participants will create fused glass jewelry pieces using molds and begin a glass mosaic artwork.
Students are encouraged to bring a colorful reference image to inspire their mosaic design.
After the first class, completed pieces will be fired in the museum’s kiln. During the second session, participants will assemble and finish their jewelry pieces, add final details, and complete their glass mosaic artwork. The second class will be a shorter session focused primarily on finishing projects and picking up completed work.
All materials for both classes are included with registration.
