Missouri Western State University 2026 Homecoming

Celebrate Missouri Western State University’s 2026 Homecoming with a full afternoon of Griffon spirit, community activities, and football.

This year’s theme, “Homegrown in St. Joseph, Plant Your Legacy,” celebrates the connections that have grown between MoWest and the St. Joseph community. Alumni, students, families, businesses, schools, nonprofit organizations, and community groups are invited to take part in the festivities.

The Homecoming Parade begins at 3:00 p.m. along Downs Drive and will feature Max the Griffon, MoWest students and staff, and area high school bands competing in the Homecoming Parade Band Competition.

Following the parade, head to Lot H from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. for the Homecoming Tailgate. Activities are scheduled to include Bluey and Bingo characters, The Bubble Guy, an inflatable obstacle course and bounce house, food trucks, campus departments, interactive games, and more.

The celebration continues at 6:00 p.m. when the Missouri Western Griffons take on Nebraska Kearney at Spratt Memorial Stadium.

Community organizations, businesses, schools, alumni groups, and others interested in participating can register for the parade, band competition, or tailgate. Band competition entries should be submitted by Friday, October 2, to guarantee consideration.
