Fused Glass Workshop with Alex Asher

Discover the art of glass fusing during this hands-on, two-class workshop with artist Alex Asher at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art.

Designed for beginners and creatives of all experience levels, the first class introduces participants to safe glass handling, cutting techniques, design assembly, and the kiln-firing process. Students will create fused glass jewelry using molds to shape their designs as well as a glass mosaic artwork.

Participants creating a mosaic are encouraged to bring a colorful reference image to help inspire and guide their design.

After the first session, completed pieces will be fired in the museum’s kiln. During the second class, students will assemble and finish their jewelry, add final details, and complete their glass mosaic artwork. The second session will focus primarily on finishing projects and collecting completed pieces.

All materials for both classes are included in the registration fee. The museum’s glass kiln was donated by Eileen Dyer.
