Fused Glass Workshop with Alex Asher

August 19 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
$100

Discover the art of glass fusing during this hands-on two-class workshop with Alex Asher at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art.

Designed for beginners and creatives of all skill levels, the workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of fused glass, including safe material handling, cutting techniques, design assembly, and the kiln-firing process.

During the first session, participants will create fused glass jewelry pieces using molds and begin a glass mosaic artwork. Guests are encouraged to bring a colorful reference image to inspire and guide their mosaic design. Once the first class is complete, the assembled pieces will be fired in the museum’s kiln.

During the second session, participants will return to assemble and finish their jewelry pieces, add final details, and complete their glass mosaic artwork. The second class is expected to be a shorter finishing session focused on completing projects and picking up finished work.

All materials for both sessions are included in the registration fee. The museum’s glass kiln was donated by Eileen Dyer.
