BFFs: Friends. Geniuses. Legends.

Open the Saint Joseph Symphony season with BFFs, a concert celebrating friendship, musical connection, and two of the Classical era’s most legendary composers, Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Haydn and Mozart shared a deep mutual admiration that influenced their music and helped shape the Classical era. That spirit of friendship continues throughout the evening with guest artists and musical selections built around conversation, collaboration, and connection.

The program features Mozart’s radiant Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola and Orchestra in E-flat Major, K. 364, with Yu Fang Chen on violin and David Kovac on viola. The work creates an engaging musical dialogue between the two soloists and orchestra.

The evening culminates with Haydn’s beloved Symphony No. 45 in F-sharp Minor, known as the Farewell Symphony. Both witty and moving, the work reflects the connection between Haydn and the musicians for whom he composed.
